“For as long as I can remember, I have always loved singing. I have always loved performing, My mom kept this ‘baby book’, and when I went to pre-primary school, the teachers would need to write in how my day at school went. In one of those reports, my class was introduced to the piano, and from that day onward, each time we had a music day, my poor teacher was unable to leave the lesson. I refused to let her go. I simply wanted her to keep playing and singing the entire day."
“From then on, if I was in the car and Britney Spears came on the radio, I’d scream,” she confesses.” The first album Cailyn bought with her own money was Britney’s Blackout, confirming her love and passion for pop. “I’ve been obsessed with music almost all of my life,” she admits. “There is nothing more fulfilling for me than seeing and hearing people sing along to a song.”
I wrote this album between the ages of 17 and 22. Those are some of your most formative years.
Growing up isn’t easy, and I wanted to capture that in this album. There’s constant ups and downs and lessons being learnt and patterns being broken and moments that feel insurmountable. But that’s okay. It’s okay to feel all your emotions unapologetically, they are valid. And it’s so important to look for the beauty and joy in those moments and surround yourself with the people that will lift you up and be there for you when life gets a little too strong.
I had the most amazing, life changing time creating these songs in my bedroom and in studio with Daniel.

I like the concept of our walls knowing things, and seeing things, and hearing things, and I thought this would be such a cool thing to write about. I also thought that there have been people living in that house before me, who had their own story and perspective on life and the ‘walls’ had got to know them, so they are a lot wiser than me. I find it kind of comforting that they can’t tell anyone.
I think the reason the song came so easily, is because we were stuck, spending so much time in our homes, and we had no one to talk to, so unless you’re talking to the dog - you’re talking to your walls.
